What is a 2G shop?

A 2G shop is a specially-qualified repair station recognized by the DMV for competence in the testing and repair of emissions systems.  It is the only  type of shop permitted by the DMV to perform emissions waiver repairs.

What is an emissions waiver?

A waiver allows for a vehicle to be registered for (1) year, even if it does not pass smog.   To receive a waiver, a partial/attempted repair must be made at a 2G shop.  Qualifications for a waiver include:

• A Check Engine Light
• Incorrect HC / CO levels

Unfortunately, we do not accept aftermarket insurance/warranty policies.  However, we are happy to provide any necessary documentation to assist in our customers receiving reimbursement for covered services.
